"Grace and Peace Be Multiplied to You" Pt.1

1 Peter 1:2

Grace & peace be to you” was a standard apostolic greeting. When reading, it's easy to look it over. But to the thirsty soul it is a great kindness and a precious encouragement.

What is grace? Grace is the catch-all term for God's love and kindness towards man. Grace means we don't deserve His love but He gives it anyway, and often without us even having to ask. To believers, grace is God working in our lives by ordering our external circumstances and molding our inner character. Grace takes us from anger to love; from coldness to passion, death to life, lostness to purpose; from selfishness to significance. Grace is God the Father and God the Son dwelling in us through the Holy Spirit, who has turned our bodies into His temple. Grace is God's being with us in the good times and the bad, when we learn to reject sin and burn our idols and choose to make much of God because there is no one and nothing like Him.

What is the effect of grace? Titus 2:11:

11 For the grace of God has appears, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce all ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives  in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us to purify for Himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Brothers and sisters, grace to you.
